​Tile and grout problems can be tricky

 
​Old grout can wash away, loosen and crack.  Truth is, there are dozens of potential problems with grout and the wall behind the tile, or it may be fine as is. We carefully examine the tile and grout to recommend a plan for your project.
 
Sometimes grout is completely missing... or there are gaps... or the grout lines have been caulked. When necessary, we grind out a layer and install new grout. And we don’t need to apply a sealant on top of that, because of the special additive we use in preparing your grout (the sealant is built in).

What ‘s behind Encore Resurfacing's processes, and the best ways we regrout, and seal?


​We may be a small company, but our processes and tools are better, and our results are big. (Of course you can read hundreds of Angie’s List testimonials on how happy people are with Encore.)
 
The first step in REGROUTING is to remove the existing caulk.

Then we clean the dirt from the shower walls and floor. We grind out the exisntg grout, and we prepare the new grout, using a special sealant additive, and apply it to the grout lines.

If the grout color is uneven, or has deep stains, we can seal it with a colored sealant to give it a beautiful, even finish. 

If grout is missing or is badly cracked on the floor then we must assume the floor has movement. Standard grout (“cementatious” ) cannot absorb any movement and pops out. Newer formulation flexible grout can absorb movement. This grout never needs sealing, and will hold its color forever. 

If we need to regrout, we use our “special sauce” grouting formula – which can include colored grout, if you like, and special long-lasting sealant. This makes it likely you’ll never need to reseal, and it will look great for many years.

Whether we mix in our special sealant to the grout, or apply a sealant over cleaned tiles, our process ensures is it resistant to stains, water, mold and mildew.
And it will last and look great for years.
